Most common stds in the general population today are Syphilis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Herpes,
Aids, Hepatitis, Genital Warts, Chancroid, Pubic Lice & Scabies, Trichomoniasis.
Sexually transmistted diseases (STDs) are a lot more common than what most people think, and in
most cases people don’t want to think or talk about them. Many STD’s go undiagnosed, therefore
doctors believe there to be plenty more new STD infections each year.
If most types of STDs are treated early the damage caused will not be as severe. But if you
don’t treat any STD type symptoms you could experience such problems as damage to you liver,
sores that come back time after time, cancer and even infertility.
If you think you might have an STD it’s good to understand the real symptoms for the most common
stds. Of course the preferred way to diagnose an STD would be consulting your doctor. This
would allow you to be prescribed any specific medication to assist you.
In any case we have listed some symptoms for the most common stds below:
1. Genital Herpes – Unfortunately one of the most common STDs and also the least diagnosed.
Estimations from doctors state one in five people in America are affected by genital herpes.
Genetil herpes are usually contracted via direct contact even when there seems to be no symptoms.
The most common symptom from genital herpes are sores around the genital areas and mouth.
2. Chlamdyia – Can by contracted via the passing of bodily fluids to another person, through
sexual contact and can even be carried on the hands and eyes. Most of the diagnosed cases of
Chlamdyia in men and women show no real symtpoms. But the know symtpoms are, for women: burning
in genitals, pubic pain and itching. The symptoms for men are whitish discharge from the penis
and painful urination.
3. HPV (human papillomavirus) – Is one of the most common stds known. Most people will constract
HPV as some point in their lives but it will go undiagnosed frequently. There are over 100
different types of HPV and although most people will contract HPV more often than not the body
will clear it without any treatment. The most common HPV symptom is in the form of geneital
warts, these can show up weeks to months arfter the sexual contact.
4. Syphilis – Is a comon STD caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum. Syphilis is usually
contracted via direct contact with a syphilis sore usually via sexual intercourse. Syphilis
sores are usually found on the external genital areas. The symptoms of syphilis may not for
years in people yet it remains a risk for a very long time if never treated. Commonly a single
sore is the first indication of syphilis.
5. Gonorrhea – Is a bacterial based STD that can be passed to each person via vaginal, oral and
anal sex. Even if there are no signs of symptoms Gonorrhea can still be passed on. In women the
symptoms are burning feeling when urinating, or women can experience a greenish vaginal
discharge. For men the symptoms are similar to women, burning sensation when urinating and a
yellowish-green discharge.
Most common STDs go undiagnosed as has already been mentioned above. For this reason it is
always advised to have regular check ups with your doctor to prevent any serious issues.
